Many folks believe weight loss is cut and dry.
They think it begins and ends with what you eat and what you don’t.
But anyone who has struggled with their weight could tell them it’s just not that simple. If it were, we’d all be model thin.
But don’t lose hope. Because if you’ve been fighting the battle of the bulge yourself, I’ve got good news.
Weight loss doesn’t have to be TOO complicated, either.
In fact, it could be a whole lot easier than you ever imagined possible. As new research reveals a KEY REASON that so many diets crumble so quickly.
And it uncovers why so many folks gain weight easily, but struggle to burn it back off.
NEWSFLASH… your weight loss struggle likely has almost NOTHING to do with your meals.
Instead, another common issue many of us ALSO struggle with is probably to blame. And it’s a problem I’m betting you’d never connect to being overweight in a million years.
It turns out poor sleep could be the cause.
REVEALED: The REAL reason for diet difficulties
One of the biggest reasons diets fail is built right into your own instincts.
You’re hungry… so you eat.
I know. Not exactly groundbreaking news. But bear with me here, because this is where things go off the rails.
You see, all too often, that “hungry” signal is sent out by mistake.
You’re not ACTUALLY hungry. Well, not in the strictest sense, at least.
Because the hunger signal is built to warn you that you NEED fuel to keep all your systems running. But in many cases, you don’t REALLY need that food.
In fact, you may have eaten plenty already, but just… can’t… stop… eating.
And that’s where poor sleep slips into the picture. The new study reveals how missing out on sleep can mess with those “hungry” signals so that you keep eating. Making weight loss nearly impossible despite your best intentions.
Within just a few days of falling short on sleep, volunteers in the study felt less full after eating what had been perfectly satisfying meals when they were well-rested.
But here’s the thing. It wasn’t JUST a “feeling,” either. Blood tests found the missed sleep blocked what’s called the postprandial lipid response.
In plain talk, that means you’re processing fats in your blood faster, socking them away in storage instead of clearing them out. And that, in turn, causes your appetite to spike, so you end up eating more.
Struggling with weight loss? Try this 2-step solution
Keep missing out on shuteye, and not being able to lose weight isn’t the only challenge you’ll be facing. You could also end up packing on even MORE pounds.
But you can get your body – and your belly – back on track with two simple steps.
First is the obvious one. Get more quality sleep.
Sometimes it’s bad habits… like too much late-night TV… that’s keeping you up. If that’s the case, program the DVR and force yourself into bed on a schedule.
But many people, especially older folks, struggle to sleep no matter what time they turn in. In those cases, it could be low levels of the “sleep hormone” melatonin.
You can restore balance with a melatonin supplement. Look for a spray form, which kicks in faster because it’s absorbed immediately.
And second, it can be tough to break the habit of overeating. And that’s especially true if your own appetite has been undermining you with false cues from lack of sleep.
You can give your appetite a reset with a natural remedy called oryza sativa, aka African Rice. This gentle herbal supplement triggers the hormones that signal when it’s time to stop eating.
You’re no longer hungry, so you’ll eat less. The result? Weight loss.
You can find oryza sativa as a stand-alone supplement or as part of comprehensive weight loss formulas.
