Talk about inconvenient timing.
Just a few weeks ago, the medical mainstream was bragging about a study they claimed “proved” supplements don’t work.
Not just some supplements, mind you. And not only in some people, either.
No, they claimed that NONE of them EVER work in ANYONE. With the only possible exception being people with specific diagnosed deficiencies.
Heck, they were positively crowing over the findings.
But, well, now they’re the ones EATING crow. Because new research has revealed, they were way off base.
Supplements PROVEN to slash health risks
In fact, a new study doesn’t just prove supplements DO work.
It also reveals how two, in particular, could save your life from a couple of today’s top killers… heart disease, and cancer.
The earlier study made such a splash with the media by claiming that two of America’s most popular supplements are borderline worthless.
The benefits of these nutrients… vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids…. are so widely accepted that chances are you or someone you know is already taking one or both.
And frankly, that’s a good thing. Because supplements are the opposite of worthless.
In fact, the new study proves the potent combo can help provide protection against some of the DEADLIEST diseases we face as we age.
Potent duo wipes out heart and cancer risk
Let’s start with those omega-3s.
It turns out the now-debunked study slamming fish oil supplements (among others) was actually an analysis of older studies. In other words, it wasn’t new research.
And while reviewing older data can be useful, it’s not nearly as strong as fresh numbers.
Plus, many of the studies the researchers claimed showed fish oil is useless didn’t even look specifically at omega-3s and heart risk.
The new study, on the other hand, was using data collected in an actual nationwide clinical trial. And according to that research, a daily fish oil supplement CAN slash your risk of a heart attack.
In fact, omega-3 supplements could cut the risk of pretty much ANY major heart problem.
The BIGGEST benefits went to the folks who needed them the most… the volunteers who didn’t have any omega-3-rich fish in their regular diets.
But the benefits of supplements didn’t end there. The SAME clinical trial revealed vitamin D is a winner too.
Taking D supplements regularly was associated with lower cancer risk. In fact, vitamin D appears to protect against nearly EVERY FORM of the disease.
And as impressive as that is, the study found something even more important. If you’re battling cancer, D supplements may also help save your life. Vitamin D slashed the risk of dying from the disease by 25 percent.
In other words, supplements aren’t JUST useful for protecting your health. They could ALSO literally save your life.
