Before the pandemic began, most of us rarely got the right amount of sleep. But after more than a year of tension, stress, and anxiety, it’s a wonder we can even sleep at all.
The vaccine was supposed to make everything better. But the news right now is focusing on a growing number of positive cases in parts of the country and the rising threat of variants.
So that has us stressing out… and tossing and turning all night long… all over again. But now, the latest research reveals the REAL toll this relentless gloom and doom has taken on us.
We’re not just missing out on sleep. We’re also suffering from stress, depression, and anxiety in greater numbers than ever before.
But I’ve got a trick to take the edge off these top three rising health threats. And this solution works whether we’re stuck in a pandemic or not.
The HIDDEN harm of the pandemic
In theory, the pandemic is winding down. People are getting the vaccine in record numbers. And restrictions are easing.
But in reality, stress levels are STILL through the roof.
In fact, one new study found the rise in anxiety and depression wasn’t just confined to the darkest early days of the pandemic, either. The numbers rose right through to the end of 2020 and well into this year.
By the start of February, 42 percent of Americans reported symptoms of anxiety or depression. That’s a disturbing 17 percent jump in just over just six months.
The number of people on meds for these conditions rose from an already sky-high 22 percent last summer to 25 percent by January of this year.
Experts had hoped the situation would improve as more folks get vaccinated. But stubbornly rising infection rates and lingering questions still have many of us on edge and sleep starved.
A second study confirms pandemic stress isn’t just taking its toll on our health during the day. It’s striking us at night, too.
As the pandemic was just ramping up in March 2020, just under 40 percent of people surveyed reported “very good” sleep on a typical night. Which, of course, means 60 percent of folks were getting fair to poor sleep.
That’s already incredibly bad. But now, after a year of rising coronavirus-triggered stress, depression, and anxiety, just 7.7 percent of people report “very good” sleep.
In other words, shockingly, more than 90 percent of us AREN’T getting the sleep we need each night.
Good sleep is CRITICAL for good health
And, of course, these conditions aren’t separated into their own bricked-off silos. In fact, with stress levels running so high, many sleep-deprived folks suffer from two or even all three at once.
So while there are terrific natural therapies that can help relieve each, I’d suggest an option that can handle ALL THREE at once: ashwagandha.
Various studies have found this natural herbal remedy can…
- REDUCE major depressive symptoms by 79 percent
- SLASH anxiety by 88 percent
- EASE insomnia with anxiety by 69 percent
- REDUCE stress hormones
Ashwagandha can do all of this with virtually no real side effects in most people. And the supplement is readily available online, in health food stores, and even most drug stores.
Remember, poor sleep doesn’t just affect your mood. Getting the wrong kind of rest can even send your CANCER risk soaring. You’ll find all the disturbing details (and a simple solution) right here in this recent report.
