For example, the volunteers were asked about…

Half of the group received the real deal saffron supplement, while the other half got a look-alike placebo. The folks who took the placebo had a 6 percent decline in their insomnia test scores. But the saffron group had a remarkable 24 percent drop – making it FOUR TIMES more effective than the placebo.
Saffron benefits go beyond sleep
The folks who got the actual supplement also reported being in a better mood after waking up and improvements in sleep quality, too. Plus, tests revealed improvements in their melatonin levels even though they weren’t taking melatonin supplements at the time.
