It’s a certified medical crisis. And a potentially deadly emergency that’s a top killer of older Americans.
And yet, unless it’s happened to you or a loved one, you’ve probably never given it a moment’s thought before.
Sepsis is a terrifying infection complication that can cause a sudden and dramatic decline. All your systems start shutting down one after the other.
And it can lead to death in a matter of hours.
But new, cutting-edge research has uncovered a powerful new weapon in the fight against this killer.
And this single quick action could…
- STOP sepsis cold
- PREVENT it from spreading, and
- SAVE your life.
But it only works if you know about it NOW, before you’re in a crisis. This way, you can prepare ahead by making sure your doctors and loved ones know about it too.
Because if you wait for sepsis to take hold, it might already be too late.
Infection complication goes from bad to worse FAST
Here’s what happens in sepsis…
In a desperate attempt to save itself from a life-threatening infection, your body’s immune system throws literally everything it has at it.
But it’s a suicide mission.
That overwhelming immune response leads to a severe plunge in blood pressure, sky-high fever, and the release of massive amounts of immune chemicals into the blood.
Your blood vessels can literally start bursting at the seams, causing clots and leaks. Next, the blood supply to your vital organs can be cut off, causing them to fail, often quickly and all at once.
Docs will treat it with IV fluids and antibiotics. But that’s often not enough, which is why more than a quarter of a million Americans die of sepsis every year.
And that’s where the new study comes in.
It backs an exciting new approach pioneered by doctors who practice holistic medicine. And this breakthrough sepsis solution is quickly crossing the line from “alt-med” into the mainstream.
The “C solution” to surviving sepsis
The key is common vitamin C, but not in the levels you can get from a pill.
During sepsis, your body will need somewhere around 3,000 times those levels – and it will need it FAST.
The only way to hit those numbers is to take it intravenously.
In the new study, sepsis patients were given these high doses of C by infusion every six hours for four days. The folks who received the IV vitamin C were FAR more likely to survive not only the immediate emergency but also the aftermath.
And since sepsis patients are often very sick, to begin with, this is HUGE.
Nearly half of the patients given the placebo died within a month of the sepsis versus 30 percent of those given C.. When you’re dealing with an often deadly complication like this, those recovery numbers are nearly miraculous.
But the benefits didn’t end there. The folks given C also spent about a week less in the hospital over 60 days.
As good as that is, it can be even better.
An earlier study found that intravenous C combined with thiamine ( vitamin B1), and low doses of the steroid hydrocortisone cured nearly everyone. But there was a 40 percent death rate in patients who weren’t given the combo.
There are two common ways sepsis strikes.
First is in a hospital, when you’re being treated for something else. In these cases, since you’re already in rough shape, you’ll need to rely on family members to advocate for you. So before any medical treatment or procedure, make sure they know about this life-saving therapy and can ask the doctors to give it to you if needed.
The second is at home when something that starts out as what seems like a typical infection rapidly worsens.
Common warning signs include “typical” infection stuff like fever and chills as well as more alarming symptoms such as a rapid heart rate, breathing difficulties, and skyrocketing blood pressure.
If you notice ANY of these symptoms, don’t take the “wait and see” approach. Call your doctor ASAP or even 911 if the decline is rapid and get yourself to the ER.
