NO one seems to hate food more than the medical mainstream establishment.
The moment they discover something delicious, they do everything they can to practically ban it.
Want proof?
They’ve WARNED you to avoid animal fats. URGED you to cut way back on dairy. Practically CRIMINALIZED eggs. And INSISTED that coffee and beer are dangerous, even in moderation.
Of course, all of this “conventional wisdom” has proven wrong.
But that won’t stop them from dishing out these dangerously deluded diet directions.
And now they’re even doubling down on what could be the WORST piece of mainstream advice of all.
Because not only could this one RUIN your dinner, no matter what diet you follow. It could also ruin your LIFE.
How to make EVERYTHING taste bad… fast
There are plenty of ways to ruin meals. But the quickest is to eliminate salt.
And that’s what they want you to do… or at least cut back so completely that you’ll barely know it’s there.
The latest guidelines from the National Academies claim that your absolute upper limit for salt should be 2,300 mg per day in total. The insist that ideally, most adults should keep it below 1,500 mg per day.
So what does that REALLY mean? Well, hold on to your saltshaker.
Just one teeny tiny teaspoon of salt is 2,000 mg. In other words, they want you to have LESS than a teaspoon a day!
But the real crime is not to your tastebuds.
It’s to your BODY.
Because like those prohibitions on meat, dairy, and coffee, ALL of these things are actually GOOD for you in the right levels.
You NEED the stuff!
Low salt diets downright DANGEROUS for seniors
Cutting way back doesn’t help by any real measure. Studies consistently show that seniors on a low-sodium diet…
- DON’T have lower blood pressure
- WON’T have a lower risk of heart disease
- DON’T have a lower risk of death
In fact, the science shows just the opposite – and then some.
Various studies have found that seniors on a low-sodium diet have up to a…
- 500 PERCENT higher risk of death
- 85 PERCENT higher risk of death from heart problems
- 61 PERCENT higher risk of spinal fracture
Now, like anything else, you certainly can get too much salt.
Some folks are more salt-sensitive than others. And if you eat processed foods, fast food, or junk food in general, odds are you’re WAY beyond any reasonable level of salt intake.
Even foods you don’t think of as salty are packed with the stuff, like the flapjacks sold in chain pancake-house restaurants.
And let’s face it, even the “low sodium” versions of junk foods are pure garbage, packed with chemicals and other additives.
The solution is pretty obvious. Choose a high-quality salt such as a mineral-packed Himalayan and make your own meals.
That way you’ll ALWAYS know exactly what’s in them. You’ll NEVER get too much salt. And you can practically IGNORE most of these dumb guidelines
