Stop me if anything like this has ever happened to you.
You tell a doc you’re taking something natural… say for heart health. It can even be a solution that’s been proven effective by DOZENS of studies.
His response? To cluck with disapproval.
Followed by a sneer and a condescending lecture designed to make you feel like an idiot for even TRYING a natural therapy.
Well if that heart helper he so readily dismissed was resveratrol, I’ve got good news. New research has just provided you with some fresh ammunition.
The study reveals how YOU got it exactly right in the first place.
And HE’S the one who didn’t understand the science.
Unlock the power of the “red wine antioxidant”
Resveratrol is a powerful antioxidant. That means it fights off the damage of oxidative stress and the cell-damaging free radicals that it produces.
But the new study on mice finds it can also do exactly the opposite in one situation.
It can CAUSE oxidation.
Don’t be too alarmed. It turns out it’s the kind you want.
Resveratrol triggers oxidation in specific proteins that sit inside the walls of your blood vessels, causing them to stiffen up.
When resveratrol hammers at them, the proteins crumble, and the blood vessels relax. That, in turn, leads to better circulation and a happier heart.
More specifically, blood pressure levels plunge.
Reap resveratrol benefits without drowning in wine
Now, these were experiments on mice this time around. But the studies on people have been pretty encouraging too.
One looked at people on blood pressure meds who were still struggling to get control over their BP.
These were folks who, in many cases, would be given ANOTHER drug, in addition to whatever they were already taking, to bring their blood pressure down.
But when given resveratrol instead, their numbers took a nosedive, and they DIDN’T need that extra drug.
Pretty neat, huh?
Here comes the challenge: Getting it.
Resveratrol is often called the “red wine antioxidant” because it’s found in grape skins. And some red wines do contain resveratrol as a result.
But, the truth is, it’s only a little bit in a glass.
To get the human levels equivalent to what was used on mice in the new study, for example, you’d have to aim for 13. And I don’t mean glasses or even bottles.
You’d need 13 BARRELS of wine!
But you don’t need to drown yourself in crazy amounts of wine to enjoy the benefits of resveratrol. Even at the levels you’ll find in a common supplement.
Whether on its own or as part of an antioxidant blend, resveratrol has been shown to fight oxidation and aging damage. Plus, it enhances circulation while protecting against heart disease, cancer, and more.
Just be sure to stick to quality ingredients from a trusted provider.
