Q: Dear Healthier Talk,
I have a bit of an earwax problem.
Mostly it’s just annoying. But sometimes my ears get so clogged up I feel like I don’t hear as well.
My doctor says it’s nothing to be concerned about. He just removes the clogs and sends me on my way.
Any idea what could be causing it?

If you’re still experiencing earwax troubles you can try a supplement. A combination of fish oil and flax oil often works well to maintain your omega-3 and omega-6 balance.
You can find both fish oil and flax oil in pills in your local health food store or online. Take them as directed by the manufacturer.
Or you can get them in liquid form and take a tablespoon of each several times throughout the day until your earwax problem resolves.
It also a good idea to take in extra vitamin E, mixed tocopherols, whenever you supplement with EFAs (typically 800 IU a day for the first 2 months or so and then tapering down to 400 IU daily).
