But new research published in the journal Thorax has revealed a simple way many folks can slash these killer attacks nearly in half.

DEADLY lung inflammation slashed by 45%
Researchers at Queen Mary University of London say common vitamin D supplements sent lung inflammation attacks among COPD patients with low D levels plummeting by an incredible 45 percent.
And as I’ve explained before, being low on vitamin D is far more common than most people realize. So you could have too little circulating in your system, and not even know it.
In fact, in the UK alone around a fifth or 240,000 folks with COPD are deficient in this vital vitamin.
Vitamin D plays a protective role in the body, helping to guard us against everything from broken bones to cancer. But it’s likely the sunshine vitamin’s role in maintaining a healthy immune system at work here.
And as little as 30 micrograms of D a day did the trick, successfully lowering lung inflammation depending on how deficient the volunteer was.
For folks with normal D levels, the supplements didn’t reduce lung attacks. But either way, the researchers report it was safe and didn’t cause any notable side effects.
Raising your vitamin D levels couldn’t be easier
Your doctor can give you a simple blood test to measure your vitamin D levels. Or you can purchase a testing kit online.
If you’re low, you can purchase vitamin D3 supplements for pennies a day.
You can also help beef up your D levels by eating more wild-caught fatty fish, eggs, cheese, beef liver, and fortified foods.
And of course, spending more time outside in the sunshine with your face and arms exposed will raise your levels too. Fifteen to twenty minutes without sunscreen in the warmer months should do it.
