The sad truth about mainstream healthcare is that far too many folks involved in it don’t care a lick about your health.
In many ways, it’s just the opposite. If you’re in poor health, these bad apples are absolutely thrilled.
They don’t want to cure it. They just want to string you along and help you “manage” it. You know, with drugs and other treatments, you’ll have to take – and pay for – for the rest of your life.
And if you don’t have a chronic health condition? Don’t be surprised if they GIVE you one. If you don’t believe me, just take a look at what’s going on right now with “prediabetes.”
Oh, it’s a genuine threat, of course. But they’re trying to turn it into the next big chronic disease, complete with drugs you DON’T want, DON’T need, and SHOULDN’T take.
And new research reveals why.
The truth about prediabetes REVEALED
Make no mistake. Prediabetes IS a real concern with real implications. It’s a key step on the path toward getting diabetes.
And at the same time, there’s a really easy and highly effective way to deal with it. And I’ll share that with you in a moment.
But mainstream medicine has other ideas when it comes to prediabetes. They’re working night and day to get people on drugs to treat it. Even the American Diabetes Association is getting in on the act recommending metformin… a DIABETES DRUG… for people with prediabetes.
Let me repeat that.
Countless folks who do NOT have diabetes are now being strong-armed into taking a DIABETES DRUG. In other words, they’ve turned a warning sign into a druggable disease.
The new study shows why you shouldn’t give in to the pressure. And that’s especially true if you’re past the age of 70. Because in that case, you’re more likely to see your prediabetes reverse… all by itself, without meds or treatment of any kind… than for it to progress into ACTUAL diabetes.
There are two ways of measuring blood sugar:
- Glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c)
- Fasting glucose
Up to 60 percent of seniors have prediabetes by at least one of those measures. So you can see why they’re eager to sell meds to people who have this risk factor.
Talk about a windfall. ChaCHING!
Bring down blood sugars naturally
But the new study should put the brakes on that plan, at least as far as seniors are concerned.
In folks 70-90 years old, with HbA1c high enough to be considered prediabetes, just 9 percent ultimately developed diabetes over the next six and a half years. Meanwhile, 13 percent went in the opposite direction. They returned to normal… 100 percent… with NO TREATMENT at all.
In seniors with high fasting glucose, the numbers were even better. Just 8 percent became diabetic, while a whopping 44 percent returned to “normal” fasting glucose, entirely on their own.
The researchers say it is clearly time to stop pushing overly aggressive prediabetes treatments on seniors. And while they didn’t come right out and say it, I will. That means DIABETES meds like metformin should be off the table.
Finally: Some common sense.
Of course, you shouldn’t let your blood sugar levels spiral out of control, either. Along with diabetes, elevated blood sugar is a risk factor for other conditions, including cognitive decline and early death. (Click here to discover how blood sugar SWINGS could contribute to heart disease.)
But there’s no need to stress over it. And there’s certainly no need to medicate it. Just aim to reign those sugars in instead with the world’s simplest solution for prediabetes.
Simply cut back on the processed foods your eating… ESPECIALLY the carbs and anything with added sugars. Swap them out for better options such as fresh produce, nuts, legumes, and seafood.
Your blood sugar levels should drop in response all on their own. You can also add a blood-sugar supporting supplement to your routine for even more peace of mind. And you’ll have even LESS of a reason to worry about your so-called prediabetes.
