The most crucial time for gaining the upper hand over cancer isn’t when it’s first spotted. And it’s not when it’s treated, either.
Instead, your BEST bet for beating cancer happens much earlier than that. Because the make-or-break point for almost any cancer is before you even know it’s there.
Now, the latest research reveals one factor that could make a massive difference in those crucial earliest stages.
It’s an ingredient you’re almost certainly exposed to… probably every day. Because it’s very likely in your food.
But once you know what to look for, it’s something you can avoid too. And cutting off this vital source of fuel could help keep a deadly tumor from developing in the first place.
Stop cancer at that make-or-break point
The fact is we’re being exposed to cancer-triggering threats all the time. In some cases, our bodies may even already be in the earliest stages of cooking up a cancerous tumor, and we don’t even know it.
That’s when one of three things can happen:
- Your own body’s defenses dismantle it, and you’ll never know it was there.
- It forms but grows so slowly that it remains undetectable without advanced testing and may never hurt you.
- It’s able to find what it needs in your body to rapidly grow and spread out of control leading to a life-or-death battle with cancer.
That last one is the big problem, of course. And a new study reveals one way many cancers may be finding the tool they need to grow and spread.
Palm oil is a common additive found in about half of processed foods. Tests on mice found that the palmitic acid from palm oil can cause cells from skin and oral cancers to spread to other parts of the body.
The risk is especially high in the early stages before the cancer is likely to be detected.
Even worse, researchers say that the cancer cells exposed to palmitic acid retained a “memory.” This allowed the cells to thrive even months later, extending the risk they posed.
Purge palm oil from your diet
However, its potential to lend cancer a hand is hardly the only problem with palm oil.
Early on, it was considered a “healthy” oil because some studies suggested it might cut cholesterol. Now we know processed palm oil (instead of fresh) is anything but a healthy option.
Once processed, palm oil becomes oxidized and could contribute to reproductive and organ toxicity. And, in fact, it may even contribute to hardened arteries.
Plus, the mass production of this oil has also had a devastating impact on the environment. And it’s contributing to the extinction of several species of animals, including orangutans and Sumatran tigers.
The new study didn’t uncover a link to cancer spread in some other oils they looked at. And, unsurprisingly, the olive oil that makes for such a healthy option for cooking at home was in the clear.
Most palm oil exposure comes from packaged processed foods. Once you start checking ingredients labels, you’ll likely be shocked by how many items you find it in.
Check the ingredients carefully and cut back on processed foods as much as possible. After all, palm oil is far from the only bad news additive you’ll find in them.
