All I can say is, “FINALLY!”
The Yellow Pages Association has finally created an opt out option where you can request that they don’t send you their huge yellow pages phone book any longer.
If you’re like me you probably haven’t used a printed phone book for literally years. I get all the information and phone numbers I need online. Yet every year like clockwork the yellow pages arrives on my doorstep and I’m forced to put it out with the next batch of recycling.
All you have to do to request that they opt you out of their next delivery of phone books is simply visit the site National Yellow Pages Consumer Choice & Opt-Out Site, fill in your zip code, and fill out the registration form. They will email you the instructions for logging in to complete your request. Once logged in just click on “Manage My Directories” on the left hand side of your screen and then click “Opt Out of All.”
The only catch…and yes, there always is one…is that you do have to give them a valid email address when you register so you can receive your log in information. So, if you’re concerned about receiving unwanted advertising in your email just do what I did and create a new email address at a free email address website and use that one to register your request.
