We’ve been duped, my friend. Fed a line of bull about opioid painkillers that most folks bought into.
They’ve insisted that we need to keep opioids around despite the…
- extreme side effects
- frightening addiction risk
- troubling links to injury and death
The reason? Opioid drugs are the most powerful solutions for pain in the pharmacy, and needed to bring quick relief to desperate patients facing the worst-of-the-worst agonies.
But new research reveals the truth. And it’s exactly what many of us have been saying all along.
The problem with opioid painkillers isn’t just all of those risks above (and more). It’s that they DON’T WORK nearly as well as advertised.
In fact, in some cases… like back pain… they’re often a complete bust with much less risky approaches working EQUALLY as well.
That means it’s time to focus on a new, safer approach for common pain. And I’ve got just what you need to get started.
Opioid drugs FLUNK major study
If a little bit works then a little more should be even BETTER, right?
Well, that kind of thinking may work just fine with cheese on a pizza. But when it comes to meds… especially opioids… that’s NOT the reality.
The new study looked at more than 50,000 veterans taking opioid drugs for chronic pain conditions, including…
- back pain
- neck pain
Some had their doses increased to help fight off that pain. But some kept taking the same dose.
And the difference was astounding. But not for the reason you might expect.
Because it wasn’t JUST that there was very little difference in pain intensity between the lower and higher doses.
The folks who kept the same dose saw their pain scores drop by an average of 0.3 points on a 10-point scale. But the veterans who were given the higher doses only saw their pain levels improve by 0.1 points.
In other words, compared to keeping the same dose, higher opioid doses led to LESS improvements in pain.
Give up the risk for some REAL relief
But this isn’t an ad for maintaining your opioid dose. With all the risks and modest gains that’s not the best answer, either.
It’s a recipe for addiction, cognitive struggles, injury, and potentially death. And let’s not forget that opioid drugs only MASK the pain while doing NOTHING about the actual cause.
That’s why the best solution to beat pain in the long run isn’t ANY kind of painkillers, but a natural approach aimed at finding that cause and fixing it.
For arthritis, for example, the UC-II collagen found in some of the best knee formulas can help stop the degeneration of the joint. For headaches, butterbur supplements can often stop the attacks from coming on so you end up with less headaches.
And for back pain, spinal manipulation from an osteopath or chiropractor, and massage from a skilled practitioner can often help loosen up the muscles and adjust the spine to stop the aches.
For a little quick relief from those pains when they strike, you don’t have to turn to risky opioid drugs or other meds.
Look for natural therapies instead, such as topical formulas that contain proven ingredients like MSM and capsaicin that you can put directly on trouble spots like the back and knees.
