Looks like 2019 is ending just how it began. The FDA is investigating reports of a cancer-causing chemical hidden inside a common drug.
This time last year, it was blood pressure meds. Over the summer, it was a heartburn drug. Now, it’s the diabetes drug metformin.
Out with the old… and… well… I guess we’re still stuck with the old.
It’s time to get un-stuck.
If you’re taking metformin, I’ve got a solution that could help you climb off this toxic train. A trick that could have your blood sugar back under control, probably before the FDA even wraps up its investigation into the drug.
Metformin investigated for cancer-causing chemical
Some forms of generic metformin have ALREADY been recalled overseas amid reports they were contaminated with N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA).
This is the SAME junk that led to the blood pressure med scare and recall. And if you’re keeping score… yep… the SAME cancer-linked contaminate that led to the frightening news about that heartburn drug just a few short months ago.
They can’t seem to keep it OUT of the medications they want us to put INTO our bodies.
The feds say so far they haven’t found any NDMA in metformin in the United States above the “safe” level.
Personally, I think it’s nuts that they even have a “safe” level. Because let’s face it, you don’t want any NDMA in your body at all, given its persistent links to cancer.
And that’s why today we’re going to take an important step for keeping it out. Because we DON’T have to wait for the FDA to finish its investigation into this med.
2-step plan to ditch your diabetes drugs
There’s a way to ditch metformin for many folks. And this two-step plan could give you PERFECT blood-sugar control without the need for meds.
When you no longer need the meds, you’ll no longer face the risks that come along with taking them. And that, of course, includes the risk of contamination with a cancer-causing chemical.
Step 1: Berberine: Sometimes called Indian Barberry, the herb Berberine activates an enzyme that allows cells to put insulin to use. In some studies, it’s worked about as well as metformin. But instead of additional risks, it has extra benefits such as better cholesterol control and weight loss.
Step 2: Ditch the carbs: When insulin stops doing its job effectively… that is promoting your cells to absorb the sugar in your body… it keeps circulating in your blood, driving your blood sugar up. But it’s not just sugar alone you need to watch out for. All carbs – especially refined junk carbs – lead to those spikes. Cut back on the carbs, and you’ll have much better control over your blood sugar. And yes, it really IS that easy.
Of course, don’t stop taking metformin or any other drug on your own. You should work with your doctor to create a step-down plan that works for you.
Ask him about berberine, tell him about your dietary changes, and work with him to monitor your progress. Over time… as you regain control naturally… he’ll work with you to get off any meds you no longer need.
And if you find your doctor isn’t open to alternatives, switch to an integrative or holistic physician is.
