I laughed as I read the lackluster description of maca, the legendary libido booster. It was on a major mainstream consumer website that I’m sure you’ve seen before.
Sure, the author might have a master’s degree in public health. And she may be a registered dietician too. But I’m betting she’s never experienced the power of maca firsthand in her OWN bedroom.
Because if she had, she’d probably be singing a different tune.
Sure, the renowned Peruvian love herb might not work for everyone. But for folks who can use a little help in the sexy-time department, maca could be the answer to a prayer.
And now a new clinical trial has confirmed it. This potent root extract can drive down fatigue, boost strength, and improve sexual functioning in men.
But ladies don’t stop reading yet. Because other research has found maca could be a solution for your bedroom barriers too.
Stamina and performance suffer with age
Men, let’s get something straight. If things haven’t been stellar between the sheets lately, it’s NOT your fault.
As we get older, our bodies go through lots of changes. Things start to sag a bit. And it’s common for energy levels to sink.
Guys often find they start to lose a bit of the stamina and strength they once had too. And that loss of power can show up in the bedroom, where an uninspiring performance can leave you not even wanting to try again.
Trust me, I get it. Talk about embarrassing.
But if you’re not careful, you could let aging rob you of one of the MOST satisfying parts of living… a fulfilling love life.
And that’s where maca may be able to help.
Stronger and better in bed with maca
For the new study researchers recruited a mixed group of 47 men and women to test out the libido-boosting power of maca. Most of the participants were young, around college age.
Everyone was given three tests at the start of the study…
- a handgrip test to measure strength
- a poll to evaluate fatigue levels
- a questionnaire to measure sexual function
Then the group was divided roughly down the middle. Half of the volunteers took a daily dose of 2.1 grams of maca root extract. The other half received a look-alike placebo.
The two groups continued to take their supplements for 28 days.
After a month all three tests were given again. And the lucky guys taking the actual maca saw benefits across the board.
They had significant improvements in grip strength, fatigue levels, AND performance in the bedroom.
Maca helps put ladies in the mood too
Unfortunately, the ladies taking the maca didn’t see the same results.
But keep in mind, we’re talking about mostly college-age young adults here. The results could be entirely different for more mature women. And the trial might not have been quite long enough either.
In fact, earlier research has ALREADY given us a strong indication that maca is an excellent choice for ladies looking to heat things up in the bedroom.
You see when it comes to libido, arousal isn’t the only issue some women face. That same lack of energy and stamina that many men find themselves fighting can affect women too. Plus, lots of ladies find themselves battling the blues also.
Experts say maca helps support your adrenal glands, keeping your “energy engine” fired up and humming all day long. And it can help keep blood sugars stable, banishing energy zapping spikes and crashes.
An Australian study on postmenopausal women showed that maca can help slash the symptoms of depression which can keep you from feeling “in the mood.” And other studies have shown the herb could help you start feeling frisky again in as little as six weeks.
In other words, it doesn’t matter whether you’re a guy or a gal. If you could use a little extra energy and sexy-time support, consider giving maca a try.
