Who needs horror movies when you have mainstream medicine? Just check out the latest “breakthrough” in losing weight – then, try NOT to have nightmares about it.
This one involves surgeons sticking a catheter – a long tube – into your arteries until it reaches the stomach. Then, they SEAL OFF that artery by dropping in a load of tiny plastic balls.
Yeah, they’re essentially sealing off that artery with a plastic avalanche.
What could POSSIBLY go wrong???
Somehow, these mad scientists found enough people so desperate to lose weight that they were willing to try this out. But in their rush to create the most bizarre process for losing weight EVER, they forgot to tell those patients something.
So allow me: There’s a way to get ALL of the results of this terrifying operation – and MORE – and you don’t need this invasive surgery at all.
Hit reset on your belly hormones
Scientists believe this artery-blocking nightmare causes a reset in the stomach’s hormones.
Specifically, levels of the “hunger hormone” ghrelin plunge. When those hormones fall, you’re not as hungry… and when you’re not as hungry, you eat less and start losing weight.
The result: This new operation led to a QUICK drop in weight loss.
They’re touting the fact that these volunteers dropped 10-15 pounds in a single month… which would be impressive if they KEPT losing weight.
But they DIDN’T!
In the part of the study they’re trying NOT to talk about, the patients hit a brick wall after losing that initial weight.
They lose 8.2 percent of their excess weight in a single month. But by the end of the third month, the volunteers only lost another three percent. And a year later, that’s where they stood: They lost 11.5 percent of their excess body weight.
Not total body weight. EXCESS body weight.
Since they started out an average of 148 pounds overweight, here’s the GRAND TOTAL of how much they lost:
That’s it. They were no longer losing weight
These are folks who started out about 350 pounds… and ended up around 333 pounds.
That’s not weight loss. That’s a disappointment.
KEEP losing weight WITHOUT surgery
But there’s ANOTHER way to reset those hormones and keep losing weight. And you’ll shed a whole lot more than just 17 lousy pounds: go low-carb, for two very specific reasons.
First, it’s low in sugar. Sugar – especially added sugars – messes up the ghrelin response, leading to hunger, cravings, and overeating.
And second, all the animal fats in this diet play a pretty nifty trick on that hunger hormone.
Ghrelin often spikes when your food is fully digested. It’s your body saying, “I’m done! Ready for more!”
But beef, pork, poultry, and fish digest so slowly that the ghrelin gets thrown off and doesn’t quite respond, so you don’t get hungry.
