For years, it’s been dismissed as an impossible dream. Exercise benefits from a PILL? NEVER!
But that sure hasn’t stopped the drug industry from trying to cook one up anyway. Because Big Pharma knows it would be the hottest-selling med on the planet overnight.
But those drug company execs may have just been beaten at their own game. Because it turns out there could already be an “exercise pill” hiding in plain sight.
It’s available right now for just pennies a day.
There’s even a chance you’re already taking it and enjoying the potential life-extending benefits without even knowing it.
Glucosamine has the power to extend lives
Millions of Americans take glucosamine and chondroitin to help fight the damage, inflammation, and pain of osteoarthritis. And if you’re among them, you’re already an official member of the “exercise pill” club.
A 2020 study that’s getting some much-deserved new attention right now finds that taking this common combo daily for a year or more could cut your risk of death from…
- heart problems by 65 percent
- ALL causes by 39 percent
Often, benefits like this start to fade when scientists adjust for other factors such as age, current health conditions, and habits.
But in this case, that didn’t really happen. The numbers dropped just a little. But statistically speaking, they were essentially unchanged.
In other words, there really appears to be something to this finding. And what makes these results so incredible is that the benefits are almost identical to what we see in studies of exercise and longevity.
Except, in this case, exercise doesn’t get credit for the benefits. They’re coming from an affordable supplement instead.
How to make the most of the ‘exercise pill’
The research does back what once seemed impossible. And that, of course, is that some of the same life-extending benefits of exercise can be claimed without lifting a muscle.
But as exciting as that may sound, I wouldn’t actually advise turning into a couch potato and swallowing pills instead.
First, exercise has other vital benefits beyond just life extension alone. And that includes significant improvements to your quality of life.
Being a bit more fit makes it easier to get around and do the things you like to (and need to) do without a struggle. When you stay active, you’ll be far more likely to remain independent and engaged while enjoying those precious extra years.
And second, as promising as the research is, it’s still early. We need more studies to confirm the combo’s exercise-like benefits.
In the meantime, you’re going to want to cover all your bases. So why not double up on those benefits by taking a supplement AND moving more?
Talk to your doctor about trying glucosamine and chondroitin. Chances are he’ll approve since it’s already well-known for its arthritis benefits.
And then be sure to fit in some more activity throughout the day to help with heart protection, muscle strengthening, energy building, and better sleep.
