Merry Christmas my friend. The big day has FINALLY arrived. And somehow, you’ve managed to get it all done.
The decorating… shopping… wrapping… and baking.
But now that it’s time to sit back and relax, you can’t. Because your throbbing, aching joints won’t let you.
Popping heavy-duty painkiller is out of the question… unless you want to spend the rest of the holidays sleeping it off in bed. And let’s face it, mixing pain meds with eggnog or champagne is a recipe for disaster.
Well, if ringing in the New Year from your couch doesn’t sound a good time to you keep reading. Because it turns out a gift that made an appearance at the very first Christmas, could bring you the blessed relief you’re looking for.
Slash pain and inflammation without side effects
If you recall the story of the three Kings, you know that one of the gifts they brought for the baby Jesus was frankincense.
Well, it turns out this prized herbal extract—once reserved for kings and nobles—is actually a powerful pain reliever.
Extracted from the Indian Boswellia tree, frankincense, or Boswellia is a natural anti-inflammatory. Research shows it can help relieve the inflammation and pain of arthritis… in some cases better than prescription pain relievers do over time.
And of course, it does it without dangerous side effects. Which means it could help YOU skate rather than limp through the rest of your holidays.
But Boswellia’s benefits don’t end there. It turns out the herbal extract could help keep you from losing more cartilage too.
Start the New Year pain-free with frankincense
In one study 333 mg of Boswellia a day slashed knee pain and swelling in a group of volunteers with osteoarthritis. And after eight weeks that translated into real-world results with the folks who got the biblical extract getting around much easier than before.
In another study, it took just ONE WEEK for folks suffering from debilitating arthritis pain to feel significant pain relief using frankincense. In fact, in only seven days after starting treatment, they were moving easier.
And lab studies give us a clue what could be behind these impressive results. In a study published in the journal Phytotherapy Research, scientists showed that Boswellia extracts could stop the breakdown of cartilage.
And unlike dangerous cox-2 inhibiting drugs the results last.
Boswellia held its own in a randomized study comparing the extract to a prescription arthritis drug. The herb took a little longer than the drug to reach its full pain-relieving potential. But once it got there, it beat back the pain just as well as the drug.
Give YOURSELF the gift of the Magi this year
These days you can find the gift of the Magi online, and anywhere they sell supplements. Make sure to take Boswellia with a meal that contains a reasonable amount of fat to help with absorption.
And remember, while some folks start to feel significant pain relief within days of taking frankincense the results aren’t always that quick. So commit to taking the supplement for at least eight weeks before deciding whether it works well for you.
