Anti-aging is all the rage these days.
Just about every day of the week there’s another story about a hot new breakthrough in the science of aging. In fact an entire industry has grown up around the science of life extension.
Now don’t get me wrong, many of these discoveries are indeed incredible and certainly worth talking about. But frankly, the majority of them would require a second mortgage on the house to afford.
That’s why it’s so ironic that the latest breakthrough in anti-aging is actually a super-cheap back-to-basics solution that’s been staring us in the face all along. I’m talking hands down the most simple and effective path to living longer you’re ever going to read about.

I can practically hear you groaning. But just hear me out.
Of course we already know that a diet rich in fruits and vegetables is good for us. But a new study, published online in the November 22nd issue of the journal Archives of Internal Medicine, has pinpointed the specific kinds of fruits and vegetables that can help you literally live longer.
It turns out that produce high in the carotenoid alpha-carotene—one of the substances that give fruits and vegetables their yellow, orange or red colors—can help prevent death from all causes including, specifically, heart disease and cancer.
Researchers followed 15,318 adults for 14 years and found that those with highest blood levels of the antioxidant alpha-carotene had the lowest risk of dying early and are more likely to live longer than others.
And the great news, of course, is that raising the level of alpha-carotene in your body could not be any simpler. You just have to choice the right vegetables to go with dinner.
Next time you’re in the produce aisle think in terms of yellow-orange (carrots, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, and winter squash) and green (spinach, broccoli, green beans, collard greens, turnip greens, green peas, and lettuce) vegetables when making your choices.
If you do you’ll be headed home with the latest powerful anti-aging solution in your shopping bag without ever having stepped a foot into the drugstore. No mysterious and expensive potions. No bewildering and costly “treatments.” Just fresh food pulled straight from the ground.
