There’s a drug out there that’s so popular… and so trusted… that millions of Americans take it EVERY DAY without question.
They don’t just swallow it dutifully, either.
Sure, their doctor TOLD them to take it. But they down it with gusto, because they truly believe it’s protecting them.
In fact, they’re convinced they would be in grave danger of DROPPING DEAD if they didn’t swallow it daily.
It’s aspirin, of course. And if you’re one of the millions taking it, I’ve got an urgent warning for you today.
You’re being CONNED!
A new report exposes the ugly truth about so-called aspirin therapy. It reveals how close to 30 million Americans taking it daily are making a huge mistake.
They don’t need it.
It’s just the opposite: They NEVER should’ve touched it. And every time they swallow those pills, they’re taking a BIG risk for virtually NO benefit.
The WRONG choice for heart protection
For years now, a daily aspirin has been one of those “automatic” drugs.
You know, the kind I’m talking about. They’re the meds that once you reach a certain age EVERYONE is expected to start taking them.
That might be how you ended up on aspirin yourself.
Many docs automatically advise their middle age and senior patients to start taking it to, supposedly, protect their hearts as they got older.
Just one problem: There’s ZERO evidence that any benefits you might get from that daily aspirin outweigh the risks for most people.
In fact, some studies find pretty much no benefit it all, especially in folks who haven’t already had a heart problem.
But the risks? HOOOOOO-boy.
Experts agree: This popular drug could be dangerous
The biggest risk is bleeding. And we’re not talking about the kind you get from something like a cut finger, of course.
You can bleed where you can’t see it or feel it… on the inside… specifically in the stomach and brain.
These bleeds can be hidden and dangerous. Or they can be painful. And in some cases, they’re even DEADLY… especially if you don’t get help in time.
As a result, even mainstream experts and most medical guidelines are now warning Americans – especially seniors – to lay off the aspirin if they don’t have heart disease or haven’t had a heart attack.
But the new study shows that the message isn’t filtering down.
Some 29 million Americans – including 10 million seniors WITH NO HEART DISEASE – are still popping a daily aspirin.
Pulling the emergency brake on the “aspirin a day” train
The experts are blaming a “confusing” message.
But it’s not the message that’s confusing. It’s the marketing.
All those “wonder drug” ads have hoodwinked patients and doctors alike.
Doctors continue to recommend the drugs despite the research. And patients keep taking the aspirin despite the guidelines warning people away from the drug.
If you’re on aspirin and don’t have heart disease, you should talk to your doc ASAP about quitting.
But don’t do it on your own. Aspirin can have a dangerous “rebound” effect when you quit suddenly and can INCREASE your risk of a heart attack or stroke.
Your doctor can help wean you off the drug safely so you can ditch the aspirin without facing those risks.
