The phrase “the cure is worse than the disease” seems tailor-made for cancer.
The primary treatments… radiation and chemotherapy… can leave you feeling like you’re stuck in a bad sci-fi film.
You’re either hooked up to some tubes as a bag of poison liquid is dripped into your veins, or you’re strapped down to a table unable to move while masked figures literally zap you with dangerous radiation.
And the side effects that follow… well, talk about a nightmare!

But as if that wasn’t bad enough a study published in the journal Neurology has a new horror to add to the list.
According to researchers those treatments are essentially eating away at your brain.
The study, which followed over a dozen cancer patients receiving radiation and chemotherapy over 35 weeks, revealed that these common cancer treatments caused people’s brains to literally shrivel up. Patients lost a significant amount of gray matter.
That’s, of course, a real problem since your gray matter is involved in all kinds of important functions including speech, hearing, memory and emotions.
And although the researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital seem surprised by the findings, I have no idea why.
Caution: Chemo brain ahead!
Después de todo, one of the most common cancer treatment complaints is what patients usually call “chemo brain.”
Symptoms of chemo brain (and radiation brain) include…
- memory loss
- learning problems
- trouble with daily activities
- word finding issues
- inability to concentrate
All symptoms that could be caused by the loss of gray matter.
And the finding that will surely not come as a surprise to anyone who’s ever undergone one of these cancer treatments (or watched a loved one suffer through them) is that the brain-shrinking symptoms stayed around long after a patient’s treatments had stopped. De hecho, they could last a lifetime.
Don’t be afraid to seek alternatives
But the fact is that although the mainstream continues to rely solely on these pick-your-poison treatments there son effective alternatives being used by doctors like me that won’t destroy your quality of life
Take intravenous vitamin C (IVC) por ejemplo, which I‘ve used with great success in my own practice.
And their are natural complimentary treatments that can be used in combination with mainstream medicines to help alleviate side effects or even make the drugs MORE effective.
So no matter what you’ve been told you do have choices. And if your doctor is unwilling to discuss them with you don’t hesitate to get a second opinion.
Your brain… and your life… may depend on it.
