Tough it out? Yeah, right, tell that to my chronic pain.
Anyone who thinks you can simply just “grin and bear it” every time agonizing arthritis, neck, back, or cancer treatment pain strikes has probably never had to cope with REAL pain.
I’m happy for them. Truly. But the rest of us are SUFFERING here. And “tough it out” just doesn’t cut it when it comes to chronic pain.
On the other hand, the mainstream options aren’t much better.
Heavy-duty pain meds that will leave you feeling loopy, sleepy, and uncoordinated… IF you’re lucky. And addicted or dead if you’re not. Or invasive slice and slash surgeries that can leave you penniless and out of commission for weeks.
Some days it feels like you just can’t win.
Now, shocking new research has revealed just how many Americans with chronic pain have been left behind by this faulty system. But if you’re one of them, keep reading. Because I’ve got some soothing drug- and surgery-free pain solutions that could help you finally find your grin again.
First, let’s take a quick look at that stunning new report.
Chronic pain cases surge across America
If Americans living in chronic pain were to form their own state, it would be the biggest in the nation overnight. Bigger than Texas or New York… even larger than California and its 40 million residents.
In fact, the new research reveals that one in five U.S. adults is battling chronic pain. That’s 50 million Americans living with agony-inducing issues, including:
- joint pain such as arthritis
- musculoskeletal pain, including back and neck issues
- all-over pain conditions such as fibromyalgia
…and MORE. With the most common complaints involving just what you might expect back, hip, knee, and foot pain.
These new numbers don’t just represent 50 million people in chronic pain. They’re also proof of something else. The ENTIRE mainstream system of pain care is backward and broken.
Here’s how our current three-step system is set up to deal with chronic pain.
- They start you out with painkillers. At first, it’s the over-the-counter stuff like acetaminophen or ibuprofen. But over time, you’re taking higher doses, and you’re swallowing them more often.
- Eventually, the OTC stuff just doesn’t cut it any longer. So you move on to the prescription pain pills you were hoping to avoid. And you risk dangerous side effects and addiction when you do.
- When the heavy-duty drugs start to fail (and they WILL eventually), they’ll begin sizing you up for pricey and invasive surgeries, from joint replacements to spinal procedures.
By the time it’s all over, the industry has made a killing off of your misery. But there’s a good chance you’ll still find yourself in pain. And the cycle often begins all over again.
Halt the hurt naturally
Clearly, if this system worked, we wouldn’t have 50 million Americans struggling with chronic pain, as the new study shows. So it’s time to step out of this crazy cycle and try something new. And I have a few drug-free ideas.
For common and chronic pains, some of the most overlooked and effective targeted pain solutions are topicals you apply directly to the spot that hurts.
Topicals can often be far more effective than OTC pills, and they don’t come with all the same nasty side effects. Look for ones containing proven natural pain fighters such as MSM, capsaicin, DMSO, and menthol.
Another option, which I wrote about recently that helps for long-term relief is a safe and natural compound called Palmitoylethanolamide or PEA for short. In studies, researchers proved PEA has anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties.
Plus, curcumin, French Maritime Pine extract, and acupuncture have helped countless folks leave the hurt behind, too.
If you find you’re still struggling with chronic pain, don’t try to just tough it out. Work with a naturopathic or holistic medical doctor with the time, patience, and skill to figure out the REAL cause of your agony and the BEST natural solution to give you lasting relief.
