Feeling wiped out? Welcome to the chronic fatigue club.
The New Year is off to an utterly exhausting start. We’ve been double-teamed by a one-two punch of foul winter weather and a surge in both COVID-19 and flu.
It’s demoralizing. It’s draining. And in some cases, it can be outright debilitating.
Sometimes, it feels like there’s no way to get relief. And that’s especially true if you’re already prone to fatigue or live with chronic fatigue syndrome.
But the latest research offers a new option. It’s a natural approach to chronic fatigue that can reportedly deliver when other treatments have failed.
In fact, this solution zeroes in on two natural therapies already known to help with other conditions. But it turns out they may be even more powerful when taken together for chronic fatigue.
Knock out chronic fatigue with a one-two punch
Some 2.5 million Americans are locked in a battle with chronic fatigue syndrome.
Many of those folks are undiagnosed because they don’t get solutions when they speak to a doctor and ask for help. They get the runaround.
Too many conventional physicians STILL refuse to recognize chronic fatigue. And as a result, many of them don’t take the syndrome seriously. Instead, they write the debilitating symptoms off as imagination or, even worse, simple laziness.
This forces patients to take matters into their own hands. And that leaves many chronic fatigue victims desperately searching for something – anything – that can give them back their energy.
If this is your situation, and you find your own doctor refuses to recognize and treat this condition, it’s time to make a change. Fire your doc and do some research to find a new one who won’t ignore your chronic fatigue symptoms.
Naturopathic and integrative medicine doctors might be your best bet. And in the meantime, that new research I mentioned earlier has revealed something else you can try.
It’s a combination of ginkgo biloba and cistanche extract (a desert plant). The new study tested both lower doses and higher doses of the duo against a placebo in nearly 200 folks suffering from chronic fatigue.
Both doses helped the majority of participants:
- 57 percent of the low dose group had a partial remission of symptoms
- 63 percent of the high dose group had a partial remission of symptoms
Meanwhile, just 28 percent given the placebo saw any improvements.
No one went into full remission in the placebo group. But about one in six given either dose of the supplements did have their chronic fatigue symptoms disappear. The higher amount, once again, proved to be slightly more effective.
Uncover the trigger behind your fatigue
If you’re locked into a draining battle with chronic fatigue, this combo is certainly worth considering.
The folks given the low dose took 300 mg of cistanche extract and 120 mg of ginkgo. While the high-dose patients were given 450 mg of cistanche and 180 mg of ginkgo.
In general, it’s always better to start with a lower dose of any supplement or medication and then increase it if you’re not getting the results you’re hoping for.
But if you’re battling debilitating fatigue, don’t stop there… especially if you’ve tried conventional medicine and gotten nowhere. Speak to a naturopathic or integrative medicine physician for complete testing to determine the cause.
It could be a classic case of chronic fatigue syndrome. But it could also be another condition caused by chronic Lyme, adrenal fatigue, Long COVID, or some other previously undiagnosed infection.
Once you nail down the actual cause of your chronic fatigue, you can get to work on a solution to finally restore your energy levels so you can get back to living life to the fullest.
