There’s a little trick that no cholesterol med in the world can pull off. A way to WIPE OUT the worst form of the stuff.
And I don’t mean the ordinary run-of-the-mill LDL that statin drugs target. Because, as I’ve explained before, despite the fear-mongering LDL isn’t our biggest enemy.
In fact, much of that stuff is 100 percent harmless. Heck, some of it’s downright essential.
But there’s one particular type of LDL cholesterol that really IS dangerous. It can clog your arteries, leading to heart attack, stroke, and other problems – up to and including death.
While statin drugs can’t stop it, there’s something else that can help. And lucky for us, it’s absolutely delicious.
Tasty trick helps protect your arteries
They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away.
And there’s some truth to that. Apples ARE healthy and CAN help cut cholesterol.
But there’s another “A” fruit that’s even better when you have one a day. And that’s rich, creamy and delicious avocados.
New research reveals this delicious addition to any salad or omelet could help protect you against LDL cholesterol. But here’s the kicker. Avocado doesn’t fight just any old form of these blood fats.
Remember, ordinary LDL alone isn’t the enemy. But certain types of LDL particles sure are.
When LDL particles are small and dense, they’re more likely to become damaged by oxidative stress. And that makes them far more likely to stick to your arteries gumming up the works.
Dense oxidized LDL particles practically burrow into your artery walls, where they cling on for dear life. And that’s how you end up with hardened arteries.
Target the RIGHT cholesterol for the best results
Our current drug options take a wildly random shotgun approach attacking all forms of LDL cholesterol. The hope is that they also attack this one, specifically dangerous form.
But the reality is it doesn’t always work out that way. And, of course, they bring (often serious) side effects along for the ride.
But avocados, on the other hand. are loaded with healthy compounds that can attack those specific cholesterol particles, helping to prevent oxidation in the first place.
And as a result, they can slash your risk of hardened arteries, heart disease, heart attack, stroke, and death… all at the same time.
After five weeks of eating an avocado a day, overweight and obese volunteers had significantly lower levels of LDL cholesterol.
More specifically, they had lower levels of dangerous…
- small, dense LDL particles
- oxidized LDL particles
And that, over time, can lead to a far lower risk of hardened arteries and all the life-threating problems that come with the condition.
One reason for this incredible benefit is likely the nutrient lutein, a proven cholesterol-buster. Avocados are not only high in lutein, but they’re also rich in the right fats your body needs to absorb it and put that lutein to use quickly.
But to really cut your levels of dangerous small, dense LDL cholesterol particles, don’t stop with avocado. Refined foods – especially junk carbs – are a prime cause of those ugly particles. Cut back on the junk, and those particles will practically vanish.
