Talk about the ultimate double-whammy. First comes the cancer diagnosis. Then it’s the chemotherapy.
Just knowing you have cancer will, naturally, fill you with anxiety and drain you of energy.
Throw in the chemotherapy… one of the most energy-sapping, stress-inducing, and sickening treatments that exists… and you’re not just facing the physical crisis of a fight with cancer.
You’re ALSO facing a serious mental crisis at the same time.
But new research reveals a way around it. A simple, but effective, solution to ease the stress and anxiety.
That way you can concentrate on what REALLY matters… taking on this disease and beating it.
Chemo-triggered mood issues retreat one step at a time
Docs, of course, will immediately offer you mood meds, such as antidepressants and benzodiazepines.
It’s not really they’re fault. After all, it’s the way they’re trained. Problem? Solve it with a drug.
But those drugs are often a terrible idea even in the best of times. Research has revealed in many cases, they aren’t any more effective than placebos. But they come with a ton of side effects.
That’s ESPECIALLY true for seniors. In fact, the drugs have been linked to everything from falls to dementia in older folks. And if you’re being treated with chemotherapy for cancer, the effects could be even MORE devastating.
But you DON’T have to just tolerate the anxiety and stress either.
Because new research reveals a safe and effective way to boost your mood, ease stress, and fight off the anxiety of cancer and chemotherapy WITHOUT extra meds. And you’re never going to believe how easy it is.
It all starts with a walk!
In the study of seniors – many of whom were women with breast cancer – a simple home-based exercise program helped improve…
- social wellbeing
- emotional wellbeing
And it worked BEST in chemotherapy patients who needed help MOST.
Volunteers with the worst mood problems and the highest levels of stress and anxiety got the biggest benefits from the program.
And the cherry on top is it’s a pretty easy routine to follow, too.
Make chemotherapy MORE effective so you need LESS
Folks who were undergoing chemotherapy were asked to walk each day, and increase their walking levels by between five percent and 20 percent every week. Plus, they were given resistance bands to do some basic home-based exercises.
The mild exercise isn’t just important for your overall wellbeing (although it certainly is). Mood problems can send inflammation soaring, and certain forms of cancer just LOVE inflammation.
In other words, they literally FEED off misery!
That makes the cancer stronger and chemotherapy treatment more draining… leading to more stress, more anxiety, and eventually more inflammation.
It’s a vicious cycle – but as the new study shows, it’s one you CAN quite literally walk away from. And when your cancer-feeding inflammation levels start to drop, the chemotherapy can do a better job.
But don’t stop there.
If you’re undergoing chemotherapy for cancer, talk to a naturopathic doctor about intravenous vitamin C.
IV-C not only can help fight cancer on its own. The vitamin has also been shown to help enhance chemotherapy, making it more effective so you might need less of it.
And even better, IV-C has been found to ease or eliminate the notorious side effects of chemotherapy. Which means you might never have to suffer from treatment-triggered anxiety, stress, and fatigue in the first place.
