The field of cancer care is made up of extremes.
Some folks in the field are practically saints. They dedicate themselves to making the lives of their patients the best they can possibly be, regardless of the amount of time they have left on this Earth.
But then others are some of the biggest ghouls in the nation. And if you don’t believe me, just take a look at the latest news from oncology.
Because when you do, you’ll find these hacks are easy to spot. They’re the ones pushing aggressive and sickening treatments onto some of the weakest and most vulnerable patients possible.
In these cases, it’s not a last-ditch effort to save a life. And it sure as heck isn’t an all-out effort to provide comfort and quality of life to patients in their final months.
No, the only explanation that appears to fit will make you sick to your stomach. These vampires are just trying to cash in while they can by pushing UNNECESSARY radiation onto older, dying patients who have no chance of seeing any benefit.
Today, I’m sharing the warning signs with you. That way, you and your loved ones won’t end up being taken advantage of when you’re desperate and at your most vulnerable.
Beware of the “extra treatments” swindle
The new analysis focused on older patients with end-stage cancer who were given treatments they didn’t need. But make no mistake about it. This kind of unethical nonsense is pulled with patients across all age groups.
They’ve even been busted giving unnecessary radiation to young adults who, in turn, could go on to suffer new cancer later in life due to a treatment they NEVER NEEDED in the first place.
See my earlier report The cancer SWINDLE that could RUIN your life for more on this disturbing practice.
For some of those cases, you may be able to debate who truly needs radiation and who doesn’t. But there’s no debate when it comes to older patients with end-stage cancer that has spread. You shouldn’t have to battle through radiation treatments in the final weeks or months of life.
And although I do happen to believe that’s true, it’s NOT an opinion. Every major guideline makes it perfectly clear. Older patients with cancers that have metastasized and a poor prognosis shouldn’t get radiation treatments.
Yet far too many doctors ARE manipulating them into radiation. The new analysis confirms that 22 percent of end-of-life cancer patients get TEN OR MORE radiation sessions in their final months.
3 questions to ask about end-of-life cancer care
Your last months should be spent with friends, family, and loved ones. You should be doing the things you’ve always wanted to do. And you should be making as many precious memories as you possibly can with those closest to you.
Instead, that unnecessary radiation is likely to leave you sick and struggling with side effects, including severe and debilitating fatigue, nausea, and vomiting. And of course, going to and from those sessions is a huge time suck when literally every moment matters.
If you ever reach a point when you or a loved one require end-of-life cancer care, you need an honest doctor who offers you realistic options. The last thing you need is a ghoul trying to extract every last penny out of your coverage with unnecessary treatments.
If your doctor offers you a treatment that’s not in the guidelines – or if the guidelines specifically recommend AGAINST what they’re pushing – be sure to ask…
- what it is
- why they are offering it
- what the risks and especially the benefits are
And always… ALWAYS… get a second opinion.
