Cinco de Mayo might be over. But don’t wait until next year to celebrate again.
Because one key “taco night” staple could also be the ticket to wiping out cancer before it starts. And in some cases, it may even help fight the disease if you already have it.
Scientists are working overtime figuring out how to tap into the potential of this all-natural cancer-fighting compound. And… of course… they’re hoping to replicate it as a drug they can sell at a HUGE markup.
But you may be able to get in on at least some of those benefits NOW. All you have to do is enjoy more of this spicy and delicious taco-night staple.
Turning up the heat on cancer
If you like chili peppers… and not only can you take the heat, you find yourself asking for MORE spice… you’re in luck. Because that’s where you’ll find this cancer-destroying substance.
It’s called capsaicin. And it’s what gives chili peppers that spicy kick. The spicier the pepper, the more capsaicin it contains.
But don’t worry if you CAN’T take the heat. You don’t have to start munching on hot peppers and sweating your way through spicy dishes. There’s another option that I’ll share with you in just a moment.
First, let’s take a quick look at the new study. Researchers have confirmed that cancer cells essentially shrink in fear the moment they even SENSE any capsaicin in the neighborhood.
In fact, this compound is basically a cold-blooded killer of cancer cells. Capsaicin seeks the mutant cells out and destroys them on the spot.
In the new study, tests found the pepper extract can help wipe out a wide range of tumor types, including some of the toughest-to-treat forms of the disease, such as lung cancer.
The only problem is getting the capsaicin from the pepper into the tumor.
That’s what they’re working on right now. Researchers are testing various ways to directly deliver capsaicin into the cancerous tumor, where the extract can more effectively attack the cells.
After all, if you have cancer, especially an advanced form of the disease, you might need much higher levels of capsaicin – and delivered much more directly – than what you can get from taco night alone.
But while we wait for the scientists to figure out that delivery method, there’s another option that may help some folks.
Putcapsaicin to work for you NOW
It IS vital to find ways to make capsaicin even more effective. But that doesn’t mean you can’t take advantage of some of the extract’s cancer-fighting powers right now.
Other studies have found that getting capsaicin the old-fashioned way… by EATING it, either as peppers or as hot sauce… can still pack plenty of benefits.
One study found that capsaicin from food alone can attack cancer cells, essentially forcing them to commit suicide. Another mouse study showed capsaicin can slow the growth of tumors and extend longevity by 30 percent.
Plus, the pepper extract is also a proven natural inflammation fighter and can enhance metabolism, too.
Given all of those benefits, it’s no surprise that a study from 2020 found eating more capsaicin-rich chili peppers could cut your overall death risk from:
- cancer by 23 percent
- ALL causes by 25 percent
- heart problems by 26 percent
But I get it. Not everyone can take the heat. If you’re among those who can’t handle the hot, don’t feel too left out. Capsaicin supplements are widely available.
But keep in mind that while a supplement will bypass your tastebuds, it can still be a little harsh on your stomach if you’re sensitive to spicy foods. So start with a lower dose at first to see how you do.
