The industrial chemical was suspected of ruining development in children. And many researchers were concluding long-term BPA exposure could contribute to cancer, diabetes, and more in adults.
In fact, it turns out everyone from KIDS to SENIORS are at risk from this stuff, which is used in the packaging for many foods and drinks, especially canned and bottled goods.
As usual, Big Food pretended to be as shocked as everyone else by the news. And they made a big show of “removing it” from many (but not all) packages and containers.
But here’s the thing. BPA is not gone. Not really.
Not only are we still being exposed to it, that exposure is in MUCH higher levels than ANYONE has admitted to before. Because new research finds the main test they’ve used to check for BPA is horrifically flawed.
The chemicals TRUE levels… including what’s potentially in your own body right now… are higher. And not just by a little bit. They’re 44 TIMES higher.
That means millions of Americans who might THINK they’re in the clear could actually have dangerous levels of BPA circulating through their bodies right now. And those levels may be high enough to contribute to chronic disease and other long-term health problems.
3 simple steps to slash your exposure
Not worried because you use BPA-free stuff? Not so fast. This is where the biggest lie of all comes into play… the idea that BPA is being phased out.
Sure, BPA itself has been removed from some (although certainly not all) places. But that’s just window dressing. Because the truth is, BPA has simply been replaced by other bisphenols that emerging studies show are likely JUST as hazardous to our health.
But you can minimize both your exposure and your risk quickly and easily with three steps…
- go organic
- choose fresh
- go stainless
Fresh organic foods aren’t packaged, grown, or sold with chemicals. And switching to stainless steel (or glass) for food storage at home will eliminate the bisphenol exposure you’re getting from plastic containers and canned goods.
A study from a few years ago found switching food storage at home from plastic to stainless cut BPA levels by 60 percent in just three days and levels of DHEP, another dangerous hormone-disrupting chemical, in half.
