While cancer is a nightmare, the treatments are often worse.
Being carved up in surgery is no picnic. Chemo has you gagging from the notorious nausea. Plus your hair is gone.
And radiation makes your whole body burn and hurt.
That’s why any news of alternative natural treatments that could help you beat this killer FASTER is good news. And this news will floor you.
A new study has revealed a little berry found in every grocery store across America could have the power to kill cancer cells.
Blueberries could help put cancer docs out of business
Experts say an extract from the humble blueberry stopped cancer cells in their tracks.
In the breakthrough study, researchers compared four groups of cervical cancer patients.
- One had radiation alone.
- Two had blueberry extract alone.
- Three had nothing – they were the control.
- And four had both radiation and blueberry extract combined.
And the results stunned the researchers.
The radiation-only group had a 20 percent reduction in cancer cells. Not bad. But cancer cells in the blueberry-only group dropped 25 percent.
In other words, the blueberry extract killed cancer cells more effectively than the radiation.
But it gets even better. In the combined radiation and blueberry group cancer cells plummeted by 70 percent. The extract made the radiation nearly four times more deadly to cancer cells.
How does the humble blueberry do it?
Blueberry extract goes after cancer cells on a molecular level
First, blueberries shut down two cancer-growth molecules, cyclin D and cyclin E. And they cause cancer cells to go into something called apoptosis. Put simply, the blueberry extract makes cancer cells kill themselves.
Now, as you may know, radiation’s side effects include fatigue, nausea, diarrhea, burns, and stomach aches. But blueberries come with zero extra side effects. So as they speed up your recovery, they don’t add to your side-effect burden.
Imagine digging into a nice big bowl of sweet blueberries and having it slash the time spent getting sickening radiation.
Other studies have found that the powerful blueberry can help prevent tumor growth. Which means it can help stop cancer before it can even get started.
Even more reasons to eat blueberries
Of course, we need more research to pinpoint exactly how to best harness the cancer-fighting power of blueberries.
But we already know that’s not all the blueberry has to offer. Adding more blueberries to your diet brings other benefits to the table, including…
Boosting your brain health:
Blueberries have been shown in studies to keep your brain “young” by increasing blood flow. They can help renew your sharp thinking and whip-fast memory.
The small but mighty blueberry has been proven to be a natural inflammation fighter. Which means it can help protect you from diseases linked to chronic inflammation like heart disease, arthritis, and more.
Supporting healthy digestion:
When you eat more blueberries you’ll add a healthy dose of fiber to your diet that can make “going” a breeze.
Amping up weight loss:
That same fiber also helps you feel fuller longer. So you don’t overeat or snack as much.
Making your heart healthy:
Blueberries are scientifically proven to lower blood pressure, fight oxidized cholesterol, AND help prevent heart attacks.
Supporting healthy blood sugar:
In one study, just six weeks of drinking a daily blueberry smoothie improved insulin sensitivity by 4 TIMES.
Making blueberries a part of your regular routine is a no-brainer. From speeding up the effectiveness of your cancer-treatment plan to delivering better blood sugar numbers, the blueberry is a superstar.
