When your blood pressure starts to creep up, it’s only a matter of time before you get “the lecture.” And then it’s time to kiss flavor goodbye as your doc tells you it’s time to swear off the salt.
You’re a good patient. And you want to be healthy. So you do it.
You cut WAY back on the salt until you can barely taste your food for weeks or even months. Then, you march into your doc’s office proud of your efforts, ready to see the results… only to find that your blood pressure hasn’t budged.
“Well,” your doc will shrug. “We tried.” Next stop: meds.
Well, my friend, it turns our drugs AREN’T your only option. And bringing down your numbers may not be nearly as difficult as you’ve been led to believe.
In fact, the latest research proves it. The new study nails down a safe and natural therapy that can, in some cases, deliver the same result as many drugs, or better. And it can do the job without the risks.
New study backs natural blood pressure treatment
OK, so the low-salt diet didn’t work. It didn’t reduce your blood pressure.
But that’s the dirty little secret you’ll NEVER hear from your doc: It rarely does. See, unless you’re sensitive to sodium, the salt almost certainly didn’t cause your high blood pressure in the first place.
Most cases of hypertension are called “essential hypertension.” If you look it up in any medical book, it won’t say “caused by sodium.” It won’t even MENTION salt.
It’ll say… and I’m not making this up… we don’t know the cause.
They’re basically flying in the dark with this thing.
But new research sheds some light. It reveals how a non-amino acid protein called L-carnitine found in meat, fish, and dairy could hold the key to quick and effortless blood pressure control for many folks.
Head off hypertension without drugs
The analysis of non-randomized clinical trials finds that, on average, people who tried an L-carnitine supplement saw a drop of 7.41 mmHg on their systolic (“top number”) blood pressure.
And, let me assure you when it comes to hypertension, those are impressive results.
But that’s not all. Instead of drug side effects, natural L-carnitine delivered a side benefit. The folks taking the supplement also lost nearly three-quarters of an inch off their waistlines. Plus, L-carnitine is also known to protect the heart, strengthen bone, keep muscle strong, and more.
Since this analysis was a deeper dive into previous studies, it didn’t look at specific dosages or lengths of time. They ran the gamut from 750 mg per day up to 3 grams per day, and they lasted between eight to 24 weeks.
But on average, the typical study used about 2 grams a day and lasted 12 weeks, which sounds like a great starting point. Check with your doctor about what dosage would be best for you.
Keep in mind while L-carnitine is fantastic, it’s just ONE natural option for blood pressure control. There are dozens of others – and combining more than one can deliver even bigger benefits, bringing your BP down to where it needs to be without the need for meds.
A little weight loss… a daily walk… and natural treatments including lycopene, quercetin, and minerals such as magnesium and potassium can all cut blood pressure levels as effectively as meds or, in some cases, even better.
You can even beat hypertension with this blood-flow busting root.
