Millions of Americans are being lied to right now.
They’re being given FALSE information about their health… about their risks… and about the best way to treat it.
And if you have high blood pressure…
There’s a good chance you’re one of them!
New research exposes the truth about what nearly every mainstream expert INSISTS is the first, best, and in some cases, the only real option for treating hypertension.
But the truth is…
- It’s NOT the best.
- It SHOULDN’T be first.
- And it certainly ISN’T your only real option for this condition.
If you rely on ACE inhibitors for hypertension, now’s the time to talk with your doc about finding a way off of them. Because even when it cuts your blood pressure, it might not slash your risks the way you think.
ACE inhibitors less safe AND less effective
ACE inhibitors are “first-line” drugs because docs believe they’re the BEST way to cut blood pressure and the deadly risks linked to hypertension.
So at the first sign of rising numbers doctors dash of a prescription for one.
But the new study finds they shouldn’t be the first thing you try.
And if you ask me, they rarely should be given at any other point either. Because you’ve got much better options that work safely AND effectively for most folks (more on that in just a sec).
The new study compared the effects of different hypertension drugs by using data on some 5 million people.
And ACE inhibitors didn’t come in first at all.
They were defeated… hands down… by plain old thiazide diuretics. You know, the drugs that make you run to the bathroom a lot.
Folks who were given the diuretics first had a 15 percent lower risk of heart attack, stroke, and heart failure.
The diuretics weren’t just more effective.
They were SAFER, too, with a lower risk of 19 side effects compared to people given ACE inhibitors.
In case you’re not sure which meds you’re taking, the ACE inhibitors are typically the “-pril” drugs, including…
If you’re on one yourself, you might want to talk to your doc about this new study. Ask him if they’re still the “best” option for you (bearing in mind that diuretics don’t always mix well with certain other drugs, including some for diabetes).
How to SAFELY slash your blood pressure
But this doesn’t have to be a choice between ACE inhibitors and diuretics.
And you certainly don’t need to mess around with other BP meds, either.
There are better ways to tackle your hypertension. Solutions that can help slash your blood pressure AND the risks that come from hypertension with NO DRUGS at all.
- Drop 10 pounds, and your BP will plunge.
- Boost your minerals, especially potassium and magnesium.
- Lycopene, a compound in tomatoes, can cut BP up to 10 points.
Any one of those steps could deliver better results than many drugs. Try two, or all three, and you may never need meds again.
