When you’re struggling with the frightening reality of life with an autoimmune disease, the last thing you need is yet another challenge to overcome.
But that’s exactly what’s headed for many folks battling conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis.
The standard autoimmune drugs already come with a list of side effects so long that TV commercial announcers have to speed-read through them just to fit them in. Most of them work by suppressing your immune system.
But it turns out that’s not the worst of it. Because new research reveals a shocking side effect for one of these drugs, which has been used for decades to treat autoimmune conditions.
Methotrexate has been used by millions of Americans with autoimmune disorders. It’s often the FIRST drug folks are put on after diagnosis.
This means if you, or someone you care about, is battling an autoimmune condition, you likely have taken it and may still be on it.
Common autoimmune drug linked to cancer
You’ve got to love how the mainstream downplays this stuff.
If you read the news coverage… and even the study itself… you’d think the side effects they just uncovered are nothing to worry about. But, remember, the devil is always in the DETAILS. Read those, and your jaw will drop to the floor.
The study found, “small-to-moderate increases in risks for skin cancer, infections, and gastrointestinal, lung, and blood problems.”
Now both you and I know that when it comes to cancer, ANY risk at all isn’t something to take lightly. But here’s the thing. In this case, that increased risk really isn’t so small or moderate, after all.
In fact, the new analysis finds that the drug could DOUBLE your odds of getting the disease.
Of course, as I mentioned earlier, just about all autoimmune treatments “work” by turning down the immune system. And that exposes anyone on one of them to some pretty serious risks up to and including cancer.
2 steps to ditch the risky drugs
Instead, go on the attack against these conditions with a two-step plan that could help reduce your dependence on medication:
- Fight the inflammation that’s often at the heart of your immediate symptoms with natural anti-inflammatories such as boswellia and curcumin.
- Work to find out WHY your immune system is attacking your own body. In some cases, for example, it’s actually a food sensitivity or allergy, many of which are often missed by mainstream medicine.
Work with a naturopathic medical doctor to get complete testing to help identify the cause of your condition. And then collaborate with him on crafting a comprehensive and tailored treatment plan to help restore balance and proper immune function.
