You’ve got to hand it to the folks who make aspirin, they’re whizzes at promoting their products.
It’s like they’ll say absolutely anything to get MORE people to take MORE aspirin.
They’re so shameless they’ll even hit the most desperate and vulnerable people of all: folks who have or are at risk for cancer.
They keep pushing aspirin as some kind of miracle drug. They say it can stop cancers from forming if you’re at risk. And they insist it can save your life if you have it.
Tempting? You bet it is. With a pitch like that, you’ll probably want some aspirin before your doctor even finishes speaking.
But don’t pop that pill just yet – because there’s one little problem with that theory.
Pure nonsense across the board. And new research reveals how this kind of “marketing” is especially DANGEROUS for men with prostate cancer.
What aspirin REALLY does to cancer patients
The new study focused on exactly the kind of men they’ve been conning with this garbage.
Not just guys worried about their “risk” of prostate cancer.
It looked at men who actually HAD the disease and were given aspirin in the tragic belief it would help.
At some point over the FIVE-YEAR study, the men who took the drug must’ve realized they had been conned because they didn’t get any real benefit.
They DIDN’T have a lower risk of death from prostate cancer. And they DIDN’T have a lower risk of death from all causes.
By ANY sane measure, this is a failure.
But believe it or not, the mainstream medicine folks REFUSE to admit they screwed up on this one… and they WON’T tell men to stop taking it.
Just the opposite: They now claim that maybe it takes longer for the benefit to kick in. And since there was a slight benefit AFTER five years of downing the drug, they say guys can keep taking it.
Dangerous side effects and overblown claims
Even IF that slight bump in benefit turns out to be accurate, that advice is INSANE!
Daily aspirin can lead to dangerous and sometimes even deadly bleeds, in both the gut and the brain. And taking the drug for longer only increases your odds of facing those problems.
But it’s not just prostate cancer.
A major study last year on daily aspirin found just about EVERY one of their selling points was nothing but a sack of lies.
- prevent heart disease
- stop cancer
- extend lives
In fact, older folks who took the drug actually had a slightly HIGHER overall risk of death. And most of that risk was from… drumroll, please… CANCER!
If you’re on aspirin now, don’t stop suddenly.
There’s a sick joke at the end of the pill bottle. People who quit taking the drug suddenly also have a higher risk of heart problems and death.
So work with your doc on finding a safe way off the aspirin and onto healthier natural options instead.
