We don’t think of arthritis as life-threatening.
It’s not like coronavirus, the flu, heart disease, cancer, or a laundry list of other ailments that you KNOW put your life in danger.
It’s inconvenient and incredibly painful, sure. And it messes with your QUALITY of life. But could it shorten the QUANTITY of your life too?
More than 30 million Americans do battle with arthritis every day. And most of them are older and worried more about those other big killers.
But now, new research reveals a risk where you never expected it.
Because it’s not hidden in a tumor, locked up in a virus, or hanging out in a plugging-up artery. It’s lurking in your KNEES.
Study reveals 11% rise in early death risk
Yes, your knees. Or, more specifically, all of your achy… creaky… and downright debilitating… arthritic joints.
Because, as the new study shows, those crumbling knees could be doing more harm than causing pain and making it difficult to get out and about.
They could literally shorten your life.
But don’t panic yet. If your own knees are hurting, I promise this is going to get better in a moment. Because there IS a way to cut the risk. And it’s pretty simple, too.
First, let’s take a closer look at what ALL of us with arthritis-linked knee pain are facing. And let me warn you, it’s not pretty.
According to the new study, older folks with arthritis have a higher risk of death.
Now, some of the reason why has nothing to do with your knees specifically. It has more to do with the fact that many folks with arthritis also have other conditions going on at the same time, like diabetes and heart disease.
But once they crunched the numbers and adjusted for all these other issues… and they factored in folks who didn’t have those other risks… they discovered something startling.
Arthritis, even by itself, is still linked to a shortened life. In fact, it could increase your risk of early death by 11 percent.
REVERSE arthritis linked death risk
It’s not entirely clear WHY arthritis is linked to a significant increase in death risk. But it likely comes down to two main factors…
- Inflammation: As your joints crumble, they become inflamed. And inflammation anywhere can lead to inflammation everywhere, which increases the risk of chronic disease and early death.
- Movement: When your knees hurt, you can’t get around as well. Many people become sedentary, taking couch potato to a whole new level. And that’s another big red flag for an early demise.
And it turns out that SECOND factor could hold the key to reversing this risk too. Just flip it over to the other side of the coin.
Don’t let your achy knees keep you down. Because the study finds that if you get up and get moving despite arthritis… if you thumb your nose at this disease… you could cut the risk and save your life.
Knees hurt too much? Trust me, I get it. Long time Healthier Talk readers know I battle bad knees also.
But here’s the good news. There ARE ways to cut the pain, stop the damage, and in some cases, even help reverse the disease so you can walk comfortably again.
One, in particular, that’s very exciting is eggshell membrane. In one study, natural eggshell membrane slashed pain by 72 percent and increased flexibility in the joint by 43 percent. And it did it within a single month.
You can find natural eggshell membrane as a supplement on its own. But for best results, look for it in a joint comfort formula with other proven arthritis-fighting remedies.
