Almost everyone experiences back pain at some point in his or her life. De hecho, pick any moment in time and it’s estimated that around 31 million American’s are suffering from back pain at that very moment.
Some of us suffer through chronic, ongoing back pain. Or maybe you’re one of the “lucky ones” whose back pain is just temporary. But no matter which group you’re in, if you’re suffering right now what you’re looking for is a little relief.
If heavy-duty muscle relaxers or toxic pain relievers aren’t your cup of tea, visiting a conventional medicine doctor can be a frustrating and pointless experience.
To make matters worse, if you do cave under the pain and pressure and take the pills chances are good they won’t bring you the relief you hoped for anyway. Research proves painkillers do nearly nothing for run of the mill back pain.
But you don’t have to suffer. You CAN beat your back pain without drugs. And if you’re suffering with mild back pain I’ll show you how to do just that in a moment.
But first, for the rest of the folks, I want to share the findings of a new study that’s offering real hope for even those suffering from serious to severe chronic back pain.
The WORSE your back pain is the BETTER the results!
I bet you’re already familiar with chiropractic care. While visiting a chiropractor is a great solution for relieving back pain for many folks—in fact I highly recommend it—today I want to introduce you to another physical intervention for back pain you likely have never heard of before.
It turns out osteopathic manipulation—in the form of a gentle spine therapy—not only can help chase away some of your worst chronic low back pain, it can literally boost function at the same time for a quarter of patients.
En otras palabras, you don’t just feel better you actually get better—reversing some of the damage that’s been holding you back from doing the things you love, according to the new study published in the Journal of the American Osteopathic Association.
According to researchers osteopathic manipulation might not do as much for you if your back pain falls into the mild or moderate categories (but keep reading I’ll have some more tips for you shortly).
Osteopathic manipulation could help you avoid surgery
sin embargo, folks with more serious low back pain saw measurable benefits. And those with the most severe incapacitating back pain—the kind that just doesn’t let up and that may have sufferers turning to surgery in desperation—saw the biggest benefits of all.
De hecho, the osteopathic manipulation may even put back surgery on permanent hold!
In other words if you’re considering something as drastic as surgery you have nothing to lose—and potentially a lot to gain—by giving osteopathy a try.
But what if your pain isn’t as severe, and osteopathic manipulation doesn’t do the trick for you? Are you doomed to living with annoying gnawing pain that makes you feel miserable?
No way! And you don’t have to pop painkillers to get some real relief either.
5 steps to REAL low back pain relief
In fact I have five steps you can take to send your back pain packing once and for all.
Beat Back Pain Step 1: Ejercicio:
I know, if you’re suffering with back pain exercise is likely the very last thing on your mind. I get it, after all just standing hurts right now.
But the truth is exercise, in the form of mild gentle movement, is EXACTLY what you need. Study after study has proven it to be true.
Pero no se preocupe, we’re not talking about lifting weights or doing crunches for hours. We’re talking about just upping your activity a bit. In one study on over 30,000 back-pain sufferers found that a bit more activity slashed low-back pain by as much as 35 por ciento!
Walking and swimming are great low-impact options. Or you can try some of the gentle exercises designed to specifically to help relieve pain while strengthening your back and abdomen to prevent future bouts of back pain.
This video has a few great options. Just be sure to check in with your own doctor before trying them.
Beat Low Back Pain Step 2: Prevention:
Doing some of the back exercises in the video above are a great well to help prevent future back injuries. But don’t stop there.
Incredibly, a study revealed that simply educating yourself about how your back functions—and what makes it hurt—can slice your risk of future low back pain almost in half!
This video is a great place to start, but you’ll find plenty more information online…
Beat Low Back Pain Step 3: Supplements:
You don’t need to pop pain pail. A number of supplements have proven to be effective at naturally fighting low back pain.
Here are a few to consider…
The Indian spice curcumin contains a compound called turmeric that’s been shown to help relieve pain by slashing inflammation at a cellular level. Curcumin has been used for centuries as an anti-inflammatory in the traditional medicine practice of Ayurveda.
MSM is an important source of sulfur in the body. Studies show the nutrient can improve both pain and function. MSM is a natural anti-inflammatory, but keep in mind it’s not an instant pain reliever. In other words it may take several weeks or longer to work so you will likely want to combine it with some other options.
Bromelain is a proteolytic enzyme found in the pineapple fruit. The enzyme is a natural pain reliever that effectively reduces swelling and inflammation. Studies have shown that bromelain can help speed healing times after an injury.
DMSO or (dimethyl sulfoxide):
DMSO, derived from wood, has the remarkable ability to pass right through your skin and the tissue underneath literally delivering pain and inflammation relief to the source of your problem.
DMSO solutions are available online and in some health food stores. You can also find topical pain relieving formulas that combine DMSO with other natural pain relievers. The DMSO “turbocharges” those other ingredients by delivering them right to where it hurts.
Beat Low Back Pain Step 4: Diet:
If you suffer from back-pain you should consider making some changes to your diet. Certain foods… namely highly processed and fast foods… promote inflammation leading to more pain.
- highly processed pre-packaged foods
- fast food
- highly-refined vegetable oils
Cutting these foods from your diet can make a surprising difference in your pain levels.
Other foods are known anti-inflammatories including wild caught fatty fish and fresh foods, especially brightly colored fruits and vegetables, cooked with a variety of herbs and spices including ginger, rosemary, oregano, turmeric, and garlic.
Beat Low Back Pain Step 5: Non-drug physical interventions
Besides osteopathic manipulation which I spoke of earlier acupuncture, chiropractic and massage therapy are all great ways to bring quick relief to low back pain.
