Love handles. It’s a cute name. But few of us find it very cute when it’s set up shop around our own middles.
Experts say the average man or woman adds one to two pounds a year to their middle between the ages of 35 and 55. And middle-aged spread is tough to get rid of.

But researchers say it’s not your imagination. Your metabolism really does start to slow down as you age. And that’s often responsible for your spare tire.

Plus avocados are low on the glycemic index (GI). Like other low GI foods, they help slow the release of sugar into your bloodstream, preventing the insulin spikes that encourage love handles.
