The prostate exam.
If you’re a guy it is a middle age—and let’s face it unwelcome—rite of passage.
If you’ve already reached 50, you know what I’m talking about. And if you’re not there yet, you’ll know soon enough.
But the truth is with one out of every seven men getting a prostate cancer diagnosis in his lifetime a simple prostate exam is one of the MOST important things you can do for your health.
Besides if we’re being totally honest here there are far worse things to endure than a prostate exam. After all, it’s really quick, totally painless and it could very well save your life… or at the very least end a whole lot of frustration.
As we inch towards middle age men often see a few prostate symptoms pop up. Making it through a movie without a bathroom break is just a memory. Road trips involve LOTS of pit stops. And we can practically wear a hole in the rug from our many nighttime bathroom trips.
Many prostate issues turn out to be benign, they’re nothing more than a bother. Your naturopathic physician can help you design a supplement plan that should have you feeling more like your old self again fast.
Slash lethal prostate cancer risk up to 68 percent!
But over 25,000 men do die from prostate cancer every year, so reducing your prostate cancer risk should be a top priority. And lucky for us researchers at UC San Francisco say they’ve uncovered the trick to slashing lethal prostate cancer risk up to 68 percent.
According to the study published in the journal of the National Cancer Institute, the key is something we ought to be doing anyway… exercising. And the fantastic news is that you don’t even have to live at the gym to see major benefits.
In fact, according to lead author on the study Stacey Kenfield, deadly prostate cancer cases could be slashed by around 34 percent if guys would just leave their easy chairs behind for three measly hours a week.
That means a daily after dinner walk and a round of golf or a swim at the local YMCA a week would do it.
But exercise isn’t the only change you can make to reduce your risks.
